The X-LOCK mechanism allows X-LOCK discs to be installed/removed without tools.

The DGA521 performs optimally and is highly efficient in heavy-duty grinding applications. Locking switch The new protective cap allows quick and easy angle adjustment and tool-free installation/removal of the protective cap. Only the tool, battery and charger are not included.

The 3-stage LED meter indicates battery charge level/overheat/overload
The Active Feedback sensing Technology (AFT) stops the motor when speed suddenly drops sharply (such as when blocking)
Automatic torque Drive Technology (ADT) adjusts speed and torque during operation for optimum performance

Makita's new DGA521 is packed with different features. ADT, AFT and X-LOCK system. Brushless motor delivers 8500 min¯¹. The soft-start suppresses the start-up reaction for smooth starts and longer gear life.With X-Lock, one click is all it takes. Place the disc in the X-Lock holder and press it into place. To replace the disc, simply pull the lever and remove the disc. The X-Lock lets you change discs quickly and easily without a spanner and even with gloves on.
